Week 1 Wrap

17th January 2022

Friday 7th January we opened our doors and welcomed twenty new Commercial Fixed & Rotary students into our Hangar. Here’s how their week went down:

Day 1: Mad Monday

Heads Down Bums Up, on Monday they opened their fresh book packs to the first chapter of Human Factors and dove straight into theory. No time for mucking around - they had exactly one week to learn their first theory subject.

Day 2: Tuesday Taking Training To New Heights

On Tuesday, three of our new students were given the opportunity to sit back and relax in the back of the Piper Navajo for a lap around Palm Island to end their second day of study!

Day 3: Wednesday Wash

All hands on deck for the afternoon aircraft wash as our new students were eager to get in and give everything a go - learning the ropes around the hangar and helping out with aircraft cleanliness.

On Wednesday we also got to witness our Chief Flying Instructor Dean take the controls of our sister brand - Townsville Helicopters r22 for a flight around the town common. Dean flew with the managing director and owner, Dick Arnold who was super impressed at how well he flew the aircraft. Well Done Dean!

Day 4: Thursday Theory

Thursday was another full day of theory - taking in everything they could to finish off the first book and prepare for exams with plenty of revision.

Day 5: Friday Knock-Off

What a week! Good luck to our new students sitting their first theory exam on Monday. We hope you enjoyed your first few days in the Hangar and are excited for what's to come.

Starting your aviation journey is a very big step and we are grateful for these future pilots that have joined us for this intake have chosen to study through Townsville Flight Training - we are stoked to offer them the benefits of living and learning here in Townsville.
