Sweers Island is an island in the South Wellesley Islands in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia.
Sweers is famous for fishing, but also offers enjoyment for the whole family, with miles of golden beaches, forests, mangroves and rocky cliffs to explore, which provide homes to a myriad of wildlife including Dolphins, Turtles, Dugongs and over one hundred bird species.
Become immersed in the rich history of the island while you walk in the footsteps of the traditional owners, the Kaiadilt people, as well as Matthew Flinders, John Lort Stokes and William Landsborough. From relaxation to action-packed fishing adventures, you are sure to enjoy your time here at Sweers Island Resort.
Your Fishing Adventure Agenda:
It doesn't get any betta than this! Your two night stay provides you with the opportunity to fish from dusk to dawn.
We will depart early morning and fly you across Queensland, taking in the incredible scenes from the elevation of your very own private plane, then reaching Sweers Island in the early afternoon, allowing you to disembark and dive straight into sunset fishing. Your fresh catch can either be cooked in the resort kitchen or frozen to transport home.
Enjoy two nights on the Island, with use of the self-drive dinghy included for you to sail your way around the island to any fishing spot that tackles your fancy.
Fuel, bait, and handline tackle are all included.
