Coral Sea to Outback
Your Adventure begins in Townsville departing in Zeph Airs air-conditioned and comfortable twin engine aircraft for your one hour flight west taking in the City and Coral Sea with Magnetic Island views on departure. Settle in and enjoy your Breakfast Platter while you watch the country and landscapes change as your journey wings away to the west.
On arrival you will be greeted by the friendly staff of Fox Helicopters who will escort you to your Helicopter for your next Outback Adventure flying over Two remote wilderness areas.
Porcupine Gorge National Park known as Australia's Little Grand Canyon is a remarkable sculptured water course hiding cool pools and eco-systems totally different to the desert upland surrounds of the Park. The colours change within the Basalt Capped sandstone as you progress up and over the inaccessible and remote upper reaches of Porcupine Gorge only able to be viewed by air.
Your flight will then turn for the 15 minute journey to the little known but truly remote wilderness of White Mountains National Park
The landscapes of red desert uplands are broken by the white sandstone bluffs and gorges of over 114,000 Ha of impenetrable ranges. The only way to access this area is from the air.
We land in the Flinders River Gorge with sandy waterholes and shaded rock outcrops for you to wander and explore this area before enjoying our gourmet smoko that is famous on this tour. Indulge in a Champagne, cold beer, tea or coffee and selection of treats served to you within the gorges beautiful surrounds.
After approx. 30-40 minutes, you will depart to Hughenden climbing away through the gorge and following the Flinders River through impossible trenches and rock formations. Upon arrival at the airport your flight has lasted approximately two hours from start to finish with one hour twenty minutes of flight time in the helicopter.
Your options on landing then include lunch at an outback pub. A tour of the Flinders Discovery Center or maybe a drive to the local landmarks. It is your choice.
When returning to the airport, board the twin-prop plane for your relaxing flight back to Townsville. Transfers can be arranged to your accommodation
This experience packs some adventure but suits people of all ages.
