Celebrating International Women’s Day / Women in Aviation week

For International Women’s Day, Aviatrix Australia, supported by Townsville Helicopters, Townsville Flight Training and ZephAir Australia, opened the doors of Hangar 85 on Sunday 7th March for an all ages community day event to inspire the next generation of female aviators. It was an incredible opportunity to chat and connect with women of all ages and spark their interest in the aviation industry. 

“Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others.” - Amelia Earhart. 

On Monday 8th March a few of the Aviatrix Australia staff members, female pilots and supporters were inspired and fortunate to have lunch with the CEO of Virgin Australia, Jayne Hrdlicka and Senator McDonald who are both champions for change. You can't be what you can't see.   

For each day of Women in Aviation week (8th-14th March), Aviatrix Australia will be acknowledging a famous female aviator in history and celebrate women's achievements on their socials as a thank you for those who were brave and chose to challenge gender bias and inequality.
