Cairns Flight Training

Our crew is heading to Cairns! 

We are excited to be tracking on a new flightpath in 2022 by operating flight training in FNQ. Let us introduce you to ‘Cairns Flight Training! (Koolardie Aviation)’ Passionate pilots and students completing their Bachelor of Aviation with CQUniversity will now have the choice to commence or continue their training with us at either our Cairns or local Townsville bases. 

Flight training will operate directly out of the Cairns International Airport, this is an exciting opportunity for the community as this service is currently not available in the region. Current CQU students must travel for training to other locations around the area if they wish to take to the sky. This not only adds expense but also wasted time due to travel on top of the busy students' lives. By opening Cairns Flight Training we hope to make their lives a whole lot easier by limiting travel time and expenses, making this a very practical option for student pilots and students completing their Bachelor of Aviation at CQUniversity.

Cairns Flight Training (Koolardie Aviation) will not only benefit pilots but will also be a bonus touch to tourism with our Scenic Reef Tours which we will also be offering through this new venture (book now). Our full range of flight training services are also open to the public in Cairns so anybody with a dream of flying can take to the skies.

For the ladies, our sister brand Aviatrix Australia will also follow us up the coast and will be by our side to encourage and support more women in aviation. Aviatrix Australia was created after research showed that women's participation in the aviation sector is low across the globe, with just over 7% of certified civilian pilots being females. Together we are very passionate about increasing that percentage and we will support women to achieve their potential in the aviation industry. Creating this supportive community is super important to us and we would love to educate more eager female pilots and have them join our Aviatrix crew. The sky needs more bright female aviators, we look forward to reaching out to the local Cairns community and hopefully connect with potential Aviatrix 

With a dedicated team of qualified flight instructors who have extensive charter and training experience, we look forward to offering students the benefits of choosing to train with us in 2022.
